PlusBike

Making your cycle-rail journey easier

 

PlusBike is a one-stop shop for information about your combined cycle and rail journey.
It provides free and easy-to-access information to help you plan your journey and make it easier.

Information is shown specifically to your journey or by station and includes:

  • Cycle facilities at stations, along with the number of cycle parking space.
  • Cycle-hire at stations or nearby with links directly to them.
  • Cycle carriage rules, including taking cycles on train specific to your rail journey.
  • Whether a cycle needs to be reserved to take on board. 

Where to access PlusBike

Access PlusBike for free via the National Rail website online, mobile app across Apple and Android, and tablets.

Simply use Journey Planner to plan your journey to view the information or search by station.

For tailored information specific to your journey:

1. On the home page, enter your journey information under 'Trains times | Buy tickets' and click 'go'.

2. Click on 'Details' for the journey.

3. Scroll down to 'additional info' on the far right and click on the 'PlusBike' icon.

By station

Information is shown specifically to your journey or by station and includes:

Use Stations services and facilities to look up a station on the National Rail network:

1. Click on 'Getting to and from the station' to view information.

By mobile

For tailored journey information specific to your journey:

1. Enter your journey information in 'journey planner' and 'select the journey'.

2. Scroll down to 'Travelling with bicycle' and click.

For information specific to a station:

1. From the menu bar at the bottom select 'More...' and click 'Cycles'.

2. Click on 'Station cycle facilities' and search by station name.

3. View information by clicking on 'Bicycle Hire - PlusBike' and 'Bicycle Parking'.

PlusBike is also available on tablets.
